Convention
CJAA conducts an annual convention at rotating military locations throughout the United States. To avoid conflict with the airshow schedule, the convention is conducted in February or March.
The convention occurs over three-four days and includes safety seminars, flight and formation training, along with guest speakers and base tours.
The specific venue affects the convention agenda. At different locations we have enjoyed base access to altitude chambers, aircraft maintenance, local airshow participation and even formation flying with Navy jets.
Jet Blasts
Jet Blasts are individually sponsored fly-ins supported by the CJAA. Normally, three or four will be conducted at various public airports throughout the United States, and like the Convention, every attempt is made to avoid local airshows.
Unlike the convention where classroom instruction is significant, Jet Blasts include more local flying, training and certification. Members typically take each other up in their aircrafts to compare performance and flight behavior.
Jet Blasts represent a significant time and money investment on the part of the individual sponsor who coordinates fbo services, lodging, food and flight/training activities.
Airshow Participation
CJAA maintains a database of pilots who participate at local airshows. Through a combination of airshow coordinator contacts to CJAA and a CJAA outreach program to airshow coordinators, CJAA provides pilot contact information to interested parties.
